Snowy scene on the Baw Baw Plateau
This artwork was inspired by the snowy mountain scenes in Victoria’s southern alpine area. Living in the West Gippsland area I regularly have the chance to visit the Mt Baw Baw Plateau.
Snow gums are found in many places across Australia including Tasmania, Perisher in New South Wales and down here in the ski resorts in Victoria. The Baw Baw National Park is a great place to see snow gums in Victoria, which remain untouched by bushfires compared to other areas (the last on the Baw Baw Plateau being in the 1930s).
