Mueller’s Lookout Mt Baw Baw

Mt Baw Baw is a great place for hiking with direct access to the Baw Baw National Park. The hikes are mostly covered under the shade of the majestic snow gum trees, with trails that join on to the Australian Alps Walking Track that leads all the way from the quaint mining town of Walhalla in Victoria to Canberra in the ACT.

Mt Baw Baw is a good access point for both short and longer hikes. One of my favourite short walks is to Mueller’s lookout and back around to the Baw Baw Village. This artwork is of the mossy fence overlooking the Mueller’s lookout deck. This is also a great point to enjoy a picnic on a day trip.

Mueller’s Lookout, Mt Baw Baw

To access this spot you can park (for free in summer) at the main resort car park, then walk through the stone walls and past the roundabout (towards the ski bowl) and either go left straight up the summit lift or along the summit trail which will lead to the lookout. You can view the green season hiking map here.
