Local art show in West Gippsland
The Tanjil Valley art show is one of Gippsland’s great local art shows held each year on the King’s Birthday long weekend in Hill End, Victoria. It’s a great event showcasing amazing art of the surrounding Tanjil Valley which encompasses the area from Tanjil South (Moe-Walhalla Road) up to Baw Baw Village. Held at the Hill End Community it is worth a visit if you find yourself in the area over the long weekend and is a great spot from which to explore the area, including the Blue Rock Lake just down the road and even Mount Baw Baw which opens for the ski season on the same weekend.
I’m happy to share that I sold my ‘Snowy Wombat Wanderings’ watercolour at the show. This piece was inspired by a scene at Mount Baw Baw where I have spent a lot of time over the years. It was so much fun to paint this piece, especially trying to capture the play and movement of the shadows across the snow.
